As a dedicated career coach based in Tel Aviv, my goal in this article is to provide you with valuable tips and techniques that will help you in your search to find an English-speaking job in Job in Israel using LinkedIn.

Your profile should include a professional headshot (if possible), and a summary that describes your job / marketplace qualifications. Don’t forget to add your work experience, educational history, and any other relevant certifications that will help you stand out to potential employers.
After doing the above, you are now officially ready to start searching for jobs on LinkedIn… and here are a couple tips to help you along the way:
1. Use Relevant Keywords
Use specific keywords in your LinkedIn profile which related to the type of job you are searching for. Using these relevant keywords will help LinkedIn to suggest the most relevant jobs for you.
In addition, this is also a good idea to do throughout your C.V. Why? Because many companies use an HR software which is set up to check your C.V. to see if it contains specific keywords.
2. Follow Relevant Companies
Follow companies in your industry and location to stay up-to-date on their job postings. In addition to searching for jobs on LinkedIn, you can also use the platform to research / follow potential employers and connect with current employees. This can give you valuable insights into company culture and the types of jobs that are available.
LinkedIn is also a great platform for networking with other professionals in your field. Join industry-specific groups and participate in discussions. Also, you should not hesitate to send a connection request to others and inquire about potential job opportunities.
4. Be Open to Speaking With Recruiters
It’s important to note that many job openings on LinkedIn are posted by job recruiters, head-hunters, or staffing agencies. This means that you should stay open + ready to speak with someone whose job it is to help you find a job.
5. Research Potential Employers
Use LinkedIn to research potential employers and connect with current employees to gain insights into company culture and the types of jobs that are available. Begin researching different companies in the alternative fields that you are interested in.
If you still don’t find anything right away, keep trying. Keep researching to understand what companies there are in the market. Additionally and more importantly, research which companies are looking for new hires.
6. Go Into The “My Jobs” Section
In this section, you will be able to see if and which companies have looked at the CV’s you sent them. Doing this will help you get an understanding of how attractive your C.V is. If no companies are looking at / opening your C.V. then you know you need to make changes – to either your C.V. or the types of jobs you are applying for… or both.
7. Using The “Easy Apply” Feature
This feature is very convenient for uploading your CV and applying in the fastest way you possibly can. You can find this feature towards the top of both the desktop website, and the mobile app.
9. Email notifications
Once you select where (what city) you want to work in, and what type (field) of job you are looking for, you can select /choose to receive email notifications every time a job that fits your criteria is posted. Doing this will help you stay up to date on the newest job opportunities.
See, I remember the day I arrived in Israel after moving here from Los Angeles… I had NO money – NO friends – and NO job. Once upon a time, about seven years ago (and after 15+ years of soul-searching), I had a powerful self-realization.
That the purpose of my life, was helping other people get what they want from life… by any means necessary. Therefore, with my 15+ years of experience in the field of sales, and customer service I decided to open a sales training company.
At this point, I had a full time job working for a high-tech company so on my day off, I found an accountant. Then I hired him and had him file the proper paperwork to open a sales training company with the government. I never thought that I would open my own business in Israel… but I did!
I decided to name my sales training company Sales Development Israel. Then, I began to use all of my spare time before work and after work creating training materials, and trying to acquire clients. In addition, I was sending emails and cold calling companies in Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Ramat Gan, Jerusalem, Bat Yam, and Holon. Basically, I was reaching our across the whole country of Israel during my efforts.
I doing everything in my power to generate momentum in my new business. Great news is that I was able to find my first few clients! However, something I immediately noticed was at the conclusion of my sales training workshops, two things would happen consistently happen:
Firstly, I would receive feedback that my sales training workshops were providing massive value for the sales team. This meant that the companies were happy with the service I provided, which was nice to know. Secondly, one or two of the students in the courses would privately approach me. These students would speak with me about their struggles not only in sales, but also in their lives.
Then one time, a female student offered to pay me for a one-on-one session outside of the office. As a struggling entrepreneur, I accepted. She asked me to help her learn how to communicate more effectively, and to help her figure out a better career path. We developed a plan, strategized, and executed.
Another student offered to pay me for my time to help prepare him for a job promotion interview. We developed a plan, strategized, and executed. Similarly, another student from another workshop, at another company, asked me to help them build their inner-confidence. We developed a plan, strategized, and executed.
This would happen again, and again…
Each of these wonderful people I began to work one-on-one with, had their own unique challenge, and asked me for help. They all knew that I was not certified or professionally trained, and still they would offer to pay me for my time. Eventually, enough people called me their Career Counselor or Life Coach, that I began to call myself a “Career Counselor” and ”Life Coach”.
I never once said to myself that I wanted to be a life coach (אימון אישי לחיים) or a career counselor . On the contrary, this beautiful, interesting, and fulfilling profession that I currently have came directly to me. In addition, after all these years I’m happy to say I have helped hundreds and hundreds of people just like you!
